Where did you grow up and how long have you lived here?
I grew up in Carson City, Nevada enjoying the wild, wild west and the wide open spaces. I moved to Washington to go to college 30 years ago and haven’t left. I love the people in the Northwest and you can’t beat the beautiful forests and lakes!
What are at least 3 activities that you like doing on the weekends when you’re not doing insurance?
I live on Offut Lake and love to go kayaking and fishing. My two son’s come down from Seattle sometimes and we kayak over to the Lady of the Lake restaurant and have dinner. The views of the sunset are breathtaking and swimming in the lake is like bathwater in the summer. I also enjoy hiking, riding bikes and having friends over.
What’s your favorite family tradition?
Every year my sons and I go to Cannon Beach for a few days. We have been going for over 17 years! We love the small town feel and the beautiful beach. Our favorite spots are Bruce’s Candy Store and the Pig and Pancake.
If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life; what would it be and why?
I love musicals so it would have to be The Sound of Music! Not only is the love story fantastic (I’m a hopeless romantic), I never get sick of singing any of the music from the movie – Julie Andrews has such an amazing voice.
What is your dream car?
In 1986, I had a 1969 Firebird. I kick myself every day that I didn’t keep that car. I wish I could have it again. I love muscle cars as I grew up with my dad’s 1967 SS RS Camaro and various other vehicles he’s owned – probably over 100!
